「時代屏風」は、こうした歴史の断片を救い出し、京都の審美眼と匠の技によって、現代へと昇華させた一点物の芸術です。主に江戸後期に描かれた貴重な屏風の中から、アートに精通した京都の骨董商が真の価値を見出し、名刹の修復も手掛ける熟練の表具師が、繊細な手仕事で新たな命を吹き込みました。

Across Japan, countless folding screens (byobu) lie in silent slumber, their beauty fading under the weight of time. Without intervention, many of these fragile relics would inevitably deteriorate and be lost forever.

"Jidai Byobu" is a project dedicated to rescuing these fragments of history and elevating them into contemporary masterpieces. Focusing primarily on screens from the late Edo period (approx. 1780-1867), a Kyoto antique connoisseur with a profound insight into art identifies their enduring soul, while a master mounting artisan (Hyogu-shi)--entrusted with the restoration of Kyoto's historic temples--breathes new life into them through delicate handiwork.

These works transcend centuries to harmonize with modern sensibilities, resulting in a singular, one-of-a-kind design. We invite you to experience a fragment of history and enjoy this unique artistic legacy in your own cherished space.
