fof (Fragments of Folklore) Launch Announcement

June 10, 2026

Dear Sir/Madam,

We hope this letter finds you in good health and spirits.

We are pleased to announce the launch of a new initiative in Kyoto: "fof (Fragments of Folklore)," a project dedicated to preserving art and spirit.

The project began with encounters with ancient folding screens in storehouses and temples throughout Japan, destined to weather and disappear unseen. These screens, in poor condition and deteriorating over the long years, were not merely "old objects," but rather precious "fragments of history." This quiet beginning stemmed from this realization.

Based on an idea by Masa, an antique dealer in Kyoto, this project utilizes his discerning eye and design perspective, combined with the exceptional skills of Fujita, a master scroll mounter who also undertakes the restoration of ancient temples, to rescue their value and reconstruct them as contemporary art pieces.

Bringing back to life, across centuries, the scenes once depicted by painters and gazed upon by people--scenes that transcended time and into modern life. This is not simply a remake, but a story of regenerating spirit and emotion. Thanks to your support, even before its official launch, "Jidai Byobu" (Era Folding Screens) have already begun to be adopted in spaces such as private residences, offices, and hotels.
Therefore, we have enclosed a small pamphlet summarizing the brand's concept. We would be grateful if you would take a look at it.
We sincerely ask for your continued support.

Sincerely,
May 2026
